The air is crisp and filled with anticipation, clean slates, renewal, sniffles, and coughs. Every year brings new (and sometimes unexpected) adventures, but the annual winter cold is strong and faithful over here. I hope you all had a joyful 2024. Whether you are new to the apraxia world or entering a second decade (like us!), welcome! We are excited to bring a community together through storytelling and shared experiences. We hope you find our musings insightful, joyful, relatable and no matter where you are on your journey, hopeful.
We wrapped up a 2024 season with some epic adventures. As a family, we managed a bucket list trip across London and part of the Mediterranean. History, culture, and connections impacted us beyond measure.
“We are proud of our country, our history. Where we have come and where we are going. We have made mistakes, but then we do better. The young kids, they want to get rid of the old and make everything new. But what they don’t know is you can’t have a future without having a past.”
Wow! Such an empowering message. We had a beautiful couple share their country with us on the most amazing golf cart tour across Rome. Bouncing up and down on ancient cobblstone, weaving in and out of modern day traffic, she shared her heart, her hope, and her dreams completely amiss of the power of her words.

Every word, every sentence, every conversation we get to enjoy is because of our past. Some decisions controllable, many were not. But the appreciation, the beauty, and the rainbows would not shine so bright without the rain and storms.
We will share more of our European adventure on our Travel Adventures page. 2024 also brought professional growth and new educational adventures. The girl began her own adventure into higher education and dipped into the therapy world. Learning self-advocacy and overcoming challenges landed her on the Dean’s list and we couldn’t be more proud! More about her adventures coming soon. Dad conquered many home projects that come along with owning a 13 year old home and Connor tagged along. Grateful for a season where we are able to learn so many new functional skills (despite the annoyance that everything I touch these days seems to break!) Mom and Connor started a home school adventure. We took some time to fill in those gaps and take control of mastering some important life lessons- did I mention we had multiple not-by-choice home projects. Interested in our educational experiences and our exploration into home school life? More coming on that as well.

We had many more highs and lows throughout the year, but we have learned to roll with it.
We look forward to 2025 and the launching of Apraxia Adventures!
~ABIDING IN JOY
